How Registry Cleaners Improve Computer Performance and Stop Annoying Errors

By: D Fraser

Those annoying Windows errors, missing DLL files, and even how long it takes a given program to open can all be traced back to registry related errors on a Windows computer system. Since you’re reading this article I assume you’ve recognized that your computer troubles are potentially caused by the windows Registry. You want to do something about it but all this mumbo jumbo about Registry cleaners seems to suggest these are a one fix all solution.

The truth, they’re not. Any website that suggests a registry cleaner can fix all errors on a PC is out right lying to you. Why? Because not all problems with a computer are caused by the Windows registry. How ever the registry is as good a place as any to start trying to diagnose your issues.

So the burning question is... Do registry cleaners work?

What does a Registry Cleaner Do?

Your entire Windows system is controlled by the data inside the windows registry. All hardware, software and users of your computer have data stored in the registry files. If data goes missing, or becomes corrupt it will cause some change in how your PC operates.

This could mean a program that won’t open, an annoying DLL error, or your computer freezing when trying to open a particular program.

A registry cleaner is designed to scan your entire registry file system, as well as related programs and files on your hard drive to find missing data, old data and errors.

Scans can take any where from a few seconds to several minutes depending on how much data you have and how many programs you currently have installed on your PC. Once the scan is complete the registry cleaner will present you with a list of potential problems located on your computer and offer to repair these items.

The repair itself can take one of several shapes.

1.) Repair of data that is incorrect
2.) Deletion of outdated or un needed files/registry entries
3.) New entries added to the registry that were missing

The type of error and severity will determine how the registry cleaner goes about fixing the situation. The repair process takes only a few minutes to complete, and if your computer troubles were caused by errors in the system registry you should witness improved performance after a system restart.

Beyond Fixing the Registry

Most registry cleaners do more then just scan and fix the registry. A key feature that every program offers is a registry back. This is a crucial step when ever you’re working with windows system files since changes can cause your PC to become inoperable.

By backing up the system files prior to making registry repairs you’re able to undo any changes made by the software if you aren’t satisfied with the results.

Beyond backup many registry repair programs also provide system start up management which improves your computers boot time (time it takes your PC to start up), also some cleaners offer system tools to improve memory use, software speed, and other system utilities.

Do Registry Cleaners Improve PC Performance?

The results speak for themselves for those that have tried and tested registry cleaner programs. If you haven’t downloaded and tried a program yet I’ve done a lot of testing to help you out.
